BC Chamber of Commerce

FRACTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

While our early partnership was to support the BC Chamber of Commerce with ongoing communications support, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck in early 2020, the Chamber, representing over 36,000 businesses across British Columbia, faced an urgent need for clear, consistent communication. They required a partner to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape, provide timely information to members, and advocate for business interests during an unprecedented crisis. The Tea Communications provided strategic fractional communications support, acting as an extension of the Chamber’s team. Our work spanned a wide range of critical activities, including:

  • Crisis Communications: Rapid development and dissemination of accurate pandemic-related information and resource guides for business resilience.

  • Policy Advocacy: Supporting in the development and communicating complex policy positions and responses related to the BC Budget and cannabis regulations.

  • Member Engagement: Managing communication for key events and activations like AGMs, Premier and Cabinet Lunch, and Chamber of Commerce Week, fostering valuable dialogue.

  • Digital Content Creation: Producing engaging content for newsletters, website updates, and social media platforms to enhance online visibility.

  • Public Relations: Developing and distributing press releases to secure media coverage for key initiatives.

  • Business Surveys: Conducting and supporting the analysis of the BCMindReader.com surveys to provide crucial insights into the pandemic’s impact.

The impact was significant. The BC Chamber of Commerce experienced enhanced business resilience among its members, strengthened policy advocacy, and a notable increase in member engagement, including record survey responses. Our strategic support also improved their digital presence, ensuring they remained a vital resource for their community. By providing flexible, fractional support, we enabled the Chamber to maintain effective communication throughout a period of rapid change, demonstrating the power of agile and responsive communications in navigating complex challenges.
