Summer Round up at The Tea!

It's been a busy summer for our team with many launches, announcements, and exciting events taking place.

MarineLabs

We launched BuoyCam for MarineLabs, the first ocean camera data product of its kind. This service offers real-time, 360-degree views of ocean conditions through sensor-equipped camera locations along coastlines. The BuoyCam feature, in beta testing in 16 locations along Canadian coastlines, enhances maritime safety by providing mariners with visual context on weather conditions, aiding navigation through fog, debris, and rough waters.

Midwives Association of British Columbia

A new three-year agreement between the Province and the Midwives Association of British Columbia (MABC) has been ratified, providing increased wages, benefits, and support for Indigenous midwifery. Effective from April 2022 to March 2025, the agreement received overwhelming support from midwives, aiming to enhance maternity services and promote the profession's growth. The partnership also includes funding for Indigenous midwifery, comprehensive health benefits, and efforts to expand midwifery services, aligning with B.C.'s Health Human Resources Strategy for accessible healthcare. LlamaZoo

This summer, LlamaZOO launched its ClarityDT Beta program, a groundbreaking digital twin editing software that creates immersive, real-time replicas of physical assets and utilizes advanced computing technologies which can be experienced on desktops, tablets, VR headsets, and soon Apple Vision Pro. Data interpretation and analysis becomes more intuitive, collaborative, and accessible. Applications are endless and can include ecological disaster management, streamlining production lines in manufacturing, land & project planning, Indigenous land tenure & management, and more.

Science World

We launched two exciting new exhibitions at Science World, including Trailblazing: Women in Canada since 1867 and James Cameron - CHALLENGING THE DEEP. We also bought some fun bucket hats from their Expo 86 Summer Capsule, celebrated a special edition of the adults-only event, After Dark on August 3rd – After Dark: Celebrating Pride and turned the dome lights back on after a long hiatus.

Formwerks Boutique Properties

The Formwerks Boutique Properties team worked with artist Oscar Maslard to have this stunning mural completely hand-painted on the side of its OFISWERKS building on 3rd and Columbia.

The TEAm took some time off to relax in Whistler, dining at the oh-so-delicious Caminetto and enjoying some pool time at Fairmont Whistler.
